Iron Man, from Stern Pinball. Pre-released Test Machine. Running ROM Version 0.5.

Please Note the extremely early version of the ROM. Keep in mind that because of this, many of the sounds, rules, and modes you see in this video do not fully reflect what will be in the official release version, as there will be numerous software updates between then and now.

  • It's one of Stern's better looking machines, and it plays great! I love the magnets that whip the ball around and send it flying erratically in different directions.

  • A few days ago I played Iron Man!

    Great pinball!

  • iron man pinball is at gameworks in wood field i played it its awesome

  • How come Stern never carried on the Pinball 2000 technology that Williams and Bally adopted just before leaving the pinball industry?

  • And for having licenses vs not licenses, the kids are more likely to play Iron man than they are to play Pinbot, or White Water. For adults, it might not bother them as much as trying out something like those 2, but kids want to play something that is in the public eye. I have went to 3 big arcade places, and all 3 don't have pinball anymore. Granted, they are the same corporation, but 1 place had like 4 pinball games from Stern, and they are all gone. One had 2 Spidermans, and no more.

  • I don't think this machine looks that great except for when the robot came up, but other than that, it's what the pinball people have now, and embrace it while pinball is still around. With the LCD screens, and just having a better screen, pinball games for people to buy are enough money, and for them to add that, it would be much worse. These arcades don't want to pay exrtra money into pinball machines later on, and they are dying.

  • @gentleuterus, keep in mind that they have a limited budget. I agree with using an LCD, but they have to stretch their money as far as possible...

  • @scooterpinballman I agree STTNG has a good all round package, the sound in particular is stunning. Deep game that would struggle without DMD, imagine it with alpha numeric.

That said there is a certain charm in the older games, and sometimes simple is better for operating. T2 would have been better with alpha numeric in my opinion.

  • @ericspinball

    AGREE!!

  • @brettv8 Pinball 2000 was a little bit different, but I like them.I am talking about a Lcd to replace the DMD,Game play is the most important But I love watching my DMD on ST TNG during and after game play.Part off the total pinball experience!!
