Philip Dru's acceptance speech.
This is chapter 26 out of the audio book "Philip Dru: Administrator". Philip Accepts terms of a so-called "limited dictatorship", yet how rare in history is it to find any dictator willingly giving up his power?
Notice how a limited government is viewed as defective, as well as a government-limiting document such as the US constitution is also looked upon as defective. Any statist would take this view.
Also take note of where Dru says that if not for him,(his response to "their greed") a century of public education would be required to right the wrongs. Your child is nothing more than a means to an end for progressive statists.
The field of elma is where the ficticious battle took place in the book. (chapters 21 through 24 among others)
The image of Benito Mussolini and the term "benevolent dictator" is used because that's exactly what early 20th century progressives called il duce; and I've chosen it to represent this chapter of the book because of the irony of a progressive book which dreams up revolution in the united states and the object of hero worship assumes dictatorial powers - limited or not.
"Philip Dru: Administrator" is a book that was written in 1912 by one of the many progressive thinkers of the day, Edward M House. An advisor to progressive presidents Woodrow Wilson and Franklin D Roosevelt. The book as well as it's audio counterpart are both in the public domain.
