@ADSamer You are absolutely right in saying there is no proof god doesnt exist, because by definition(s) god can never be disproved, on the other hand, for instance, everything was created 2 seconds ago with all our memories implanted....cant be disproved either, therefore, it comes down to belief and everyone should be entitled to their own beliefs, hence, just as you believe in god, so you should allow others to disbelieve, be open minded and not just tolerant, but accepting... Variety is Good

Why does nobody ask the question "why does god hide himself so perfectly nowadays"?? 2000 years ago, he used to appear quite frequently... Nevertheless, I love Peter Atkins debating. Arrogant but funny - and he is right, of course!

@HonestMan395 I wasn't counting only Islam Judaism and Christianity. I was counting every religion that believes in a Supreme or Supremes. So again, I was correct.
"you can die if you leave Islam." The Quran doesn't say anything about killing the people who commit apostasy. I don't know where you have heard that from.
You still haven't talked about the burden of proof. Don't forget that subject and most definitely don't try to avoid it.
-
@ADSamer You wish. As Christianity, Islam and Judaism are basically the only religions that believe in One supreme being i.e. Monotheistic, (the rest are polytheistic), my figures of 4.6 billion are correct. Check the census results.
If you only count your religion, Islam, the number drops to 2.1 billion and I would imagine that the only reason there is that number is because you can die if you leave Islam.

@HonestMan395 First of all, Im not a christian, I'm a muslim. The number 5+ billion represents all the people that believe in a supreme. So yes, my figures are correct thank you very much.
Second of all, your right, just because lots of people believe in a God doesn't mean I should believe in a God. But I don't understand why your assuming that I have used that argument. No where in my comments have I used that stupid argument. Read my reply again, and revise it. Or revise your english.

@ADSamer no no no you are completely wrong!
-
@ADSamer First, get your figures right. There are only around 2.5 billion Christians in the world. If you add in the Jews and the muslims, who, after all, worship the same god as you, that only brings the figure to around 4.6 billion.
In any case, to say that just because lots of people believe something is true, that makes it true is a stupid argument.
If you have evidence of God, that cannot be explained in any other way, show it. Otherwise, you have no case.

@HonestMan395 "you should be agnostic as well." nope that doesn't apply to me, you know why? Cuz I could just way that I heard he's voice or I experienced a miracle. And yes you do need permission, because in your eyes maybe God is a "myth" but to 5+ billion people, it is a myth if you state that God does not exist. Get it?
-
@ADSamer I don't need your permission to define god in the negative. He is a myth, just as much as fairies.
That is the most twisted argument I have ever heard. Of course, saying that something doesn't exist is making a negative statement, but if you want to go down that route, that works both ways.
If you don't have evidence that god exists, then, by your own standards of proof, you should be agnostic as well.
@StopSpamming1 "Atheists don't reject or claim anything." in your eyes maybe, but in our eyes, it is a claim when you state that there is no existence of God. To us, that is a claim. Who are you to say that by default God does not exist? Are you the king? We say that God exists is the default, we outnumber you, therefor, according to your logic, you have the burden of proof.
Get your facts right.

@HonestMan395 First of all, don't compare Fairies with God. Second of all, who gave you the right to define "There is no God" as a negative? You said you don't believe in God. Meaning you think God does not Exist. Yes, thats a claim. The burden of Proof will never work in this debate, its all ways neutral, and what is neutral? Agnosticism. If you have evidence he doesn't exist, you have a right to be an atheist. otherwise you should be an agnostic.
