This video is a demonstration of small oil spill cleanup for Ottawa, Canada's CJOH TV Newsday. This demonstration shows how simple it is to cleanup an oil spill like the Exxon one in Valdez Alaska. Wax is a readily available petroleum bi-product perfect for solidifying oil. The best part is that the wax and oil can be separated again through the refining process.

My reply, Wax I use is not a chemical, it is a pure food grade wax, If wax is sprayed onto oil coated water surfaces, the wax and oil combination form into a non adhesive. non contaminating solid, It can be removed from the water surface quite easily with small meshed fish nets and emptied into a waiting barge. IT can be taken to the refinery where the oil was going to be distilled in the first place. They get to save there oil and get the wax back. to reuse over and over.....Willy
