My heart and prayers go out to Austin's family . It's sad that this happend at Walt Disney World. The Monorail is a great way to travel around Walt Disney World

I was there on that day. This idiot I knew kept complaining that he couldn't ride the monorail because of the crash. I was like, "Um, two monrails collided, someone died, and all you care about is that you couldn't go for a ride? How about showing a little concern for God's sake." :\

@starfleet1993 The system is not automated, there are "pilots" in the front of the monorail, and after the accident, they now have "spotters" in the back. As for the track, and MAPO system, several people control that, and also switch the tracks. It is not automated.

Um, no, the system is absolutely NOT automated.
Just wanted to let everyone know that as of 2:30pm, the WDW Monorail System has now resumed operation and is taking guests.
