@DILL1127 just go to where his dead body is and wait for like 2 weeks, he respawns but when that happened to me, it was on a river so he was continuously fighting mudcrabs and couldn't fast travel with me, if that doesn't work or you don't know where he is, you gotta load an old save if you wanna keep him

@CyborgkillerX1538 Actually it's the top perk in the Sneak tree - Shadow Warrior. It stealths you when you crouch while in combat, and breaks the enemy's line of sight.
