  • 2 days before she skated, her mum died, what a brave girl...

  • From this angle you can see how fast she is!

Close-ups on TV never catch the speed.

  • Bronze, silver or gold, Joannie's spirit shines through her performance, skating from her heart. Beautiful, graceful, exciting to watch. So courageous after everything she went through.

  • WOW incredibly courageous and inspiring, and she got a bronze out of this, when some people said she wouldn't even skate. WOW. doesn't matter that the medal was a bronze; in my mind, her medal is gold. incredibly determined and as scott hamilton said, a superhuman amount of courage

  • im not being a racist but the jap should have gotten 3rd she sucked shit and we got silver

  • You are my hero! I'm 46 yrs old. I could never do that in ANY capacity, never mind losing my mom! You get EXTRA points in my "book". , just for competing, never mind WINNING a BRONzE medal in the Olympics!

  • @jamarsano plus you can see her tracings on the ice-- TV cameras NEVER catch those!

  • Thanks for posting. I'm surprised the IOC hasn't hunted you down and killed you, then sued your corpse.

  • @funwill I agree! She EARNED that medal the olde fashioned way...hard work, determination and some help from a another great lady up above! I think if she hadn't stepped out of that triple, she could have very possibly got the silver....I just hope we see her again in '14. :) I'm American but I love Canada too!!!! VIVE North America :)

  • She is an inspiration to everyone. Just wonderful! I am so proud of my FrenchCanadien hertiage :)

  • LOVE the choreography of this program. When I first saw this at Canadian Nationals (on youtube, I'm American) I thought it was the best choreographed of all the frees. I''m so glad she nailed it (except for the flip) here!!! Love her.

  • Oh my god. What a performance. Her mother has died, and she goes out on home ice to do her best. What an inspiration.
