Audi's big performance news for the 2009 Geneva Auto Show is the long-awaited launch of the TT RS, its high-output all-wheel-drive compact. Sadly, the car is "not approved for U.S. launch," according to Audi.

The TT RS features a turbocharged 2.5-liter direct-injection five-cylinder engine rated at "far more than 300 hp," the company said. The car will rocket from rest to 60 mph in well under 5.0 seconds, with top speed electronically limited to 155 mph.

The TT RS also will benefit from a number of chassis upgrades, including larger brakes. Audi, in its initial pre-show publicity blast, notes that the car will deliver "explosive acceleration, driving delight and unrivaled sound."

    MAYBE

  • audi announced the tt rs is coming to america in 2011

  • Fine, if they don't want to bring it over, I'll take a 135i. :P

  • The TTS looks better than the TT RS.

    I'm just saying!

  • its a shame the RS isnt coming to America. From the clips ive heard and discussions from other people, under full throttle, it sounds similar to a lambo, of course i dont mean exactly, but it has that pitch

  • ES UNA MARAVILLA TT PRECIOSO

  • This car is not in america, i have a 09 TT-S and it has a smaller built in electronic spoiler that you can raise and lower inside the car...not permanent like the RS's -the RS is not going to be sold here in the states, you could buy it in europe then have it shipped here in a freighter if you wanted but that would be crazy expensive
