'One Day at a Time' and 'Easy Does It' are just two popular AA slogans that help guide us in recovery.

  • Am I suppose to believe that with a screen name of a beer company that someone was even trying to sober up? Anyone who would even think the slogan could be giving permission to drink the following day is missing the point or perhaps trying to ridicule a program that has helped millions

  • 22 years ago I said, just for today!

  • Father Martin is an amazing speaker. I never used AA to clean up. The Holy Spirit lifted the desire to use substances from me.

  • "One day at a time" is a permission statement to relapse *tomorrow* for lots of us. "OK, I'll be sober today, but I reserve the right to *not* be sober tomorrow." What's wrong with making a solemn vow to stay sober for the rest of your life? Well, in fact, lots of alcoholics get clean this way. I hear AAers say, "I can't do that," but when I question them closely, I find that they've never been exposed to good psychological tools to help them prevail. Eventually, "one day at a time" fails, too.

  • Excellent

  • Such a sincere, smart teacher. I have learned so much from you. Rest in peace.

  • Wow...........just wow!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I heard that this man has passed away. I am an alcoholic in recovery. I don't know exactly what step I'm on, but I'm somewhere around the fourth one. I know I have a problem, but I haven't really started dealing with it. This is only strange because I haven't had a drink but once in two years. AA doesn't have a time frame, and THIS MAN helps me even today. :)

  • @johnbasgall Go ahead and pray for me. Feel free to chant for me, do a rain dance for me, and read tea leaves for me, too. I know that for the vast majority, AA does not work. It's just faith healing. Google orange-papers. That's the truth. I was in that cult for a year. Now I'm free of both alcohol AND the cult.

  • I'll pray for all you lost people who don't think AA works
