This is for the following people who have these symptoms

• You ran Power chute software and noticed your run time is less than it should be.

• You replaced your batteries with new one(s) and your run time is still very low.

• Your Battery LED lights are flashing / blinking without a full load.

• Your UPS program tells you, UPS battery is discharged from power chute software.

  • @lickity40 You are very welcome!!!

  • @Touseef1 No you don't, however for the system to be re-calibrated, the system has to be @ 100%, if the system drops below 100% battery, then you can't recalibrate at all and will need to wait until it is... To play it safe, I would disconnect all production servers from the UPS... Don't play games when this is done... Serious stuff here...

  • This is an AWESOME tutorial! I had changed my battery (aftermarket ofc) and the darn thing kept saying the battery was discharged and 0 minutes remaining. I tried the 30%+ load factory reset posted on the APC forums, it help 3 of my computers on and 3 monitors for over 30 minutes in BIOS and finally shutdown. After it fully charged it was in the same status! This little tutorial completely solved my problem, thank you VERY much! :-)

  • @TiagoNevesNET

Gotta love it. Could you post the Model of your APC please?

  • Worked!! A+ Job Thanks APC1400

  • @thx11386t Pretty cool right? APC convinces you to buy another one with some sort of trade in value for your old one... However, I still feel APC is the leader in battery backups!

  • @dumln86. Thanks. I had the same problem. The instructions worked perfectly after I removed the network management card

  • Fixed! Thanks for the time & money saver!

  • I can not do this (• Enter “ 1 ” two times, with a two second gap between the two. (Two cursor flashes) • You should see “ PROG ”) when adding Card AP9630.

To solve I need to remove the AP9630 is OK then reinstalled. Then the system will be down and take too much time

    Please help me

  • Thank you soooo much for posting this. You just saved me from buying a new UPS unnecessarily.

My UPS (SmartUPS 1500 - model:DLA1500) has been acting funny for a week following a power failure (actually, may have been broke before that). The UPS LED's would show and report 100% charge (flashing though) and as soon as power was cut, it'd drop back to 1 LED light. I replaced the battery thinking, that must be the cause but the new one wouldn't get charged either. This worked perfectly. THX.

  • Can i do it for APC Smart UPS RT 3000VA? and Do i have to disconnect all the servers and switches connected to it when i m making this troubleshoot?

  • Any idea how to do this with a USB cable? Model back-ups xs 800

  • sir how to this working show video please?

I believe this constant flashing lights has a negative effect on battery life as the original was not that old and after a few weeks the replace battery light came on. Hope this helps, thanks again!
