ONLY 500 OF THESE ORIGINAL TEST PRESSES MADE I BELIEVE. THEY ARE QUITE RARE AND ARE RELEASED AS THE 'DUST BROTHERS' WHO ARE NOW MORE FAMOUSLY KNOWN AS THE CHEMICAL BROTHERS.
'THE DUST BROTHERS GUISE WAS A TRIBUTE TO THE ORIGINAL 'DUST BROTHERS GROUP' SO DON'T CONFUSE THE TWO.
GREAT TRACK FROM THE EVOLVING 'BIG BEAT' SCENE CENTERED AROUND BRIGHTON ENGLAND AROUND 1995.

"Song To The Siren" was made in Tom's bedroom, on a Hitachi hi-fi, a computer, a S1000 sampler and one keyboard with no effects. In the song they sampled the This Mortal Coil's Song To The Siren and Meat Beat Manifesto. It was released in 500 copies on 12" vinyl through Diamond Records (named after Ed's nickname), their own label. A hardcore act contributed on the other side. Tom would later say "We were taking it around to the dance shops down in London, and everyone said it was too slow and that no-one would play it. People laughed at us! Because it was only 111bpm".

  • Not to be confused with The Chemical Brothers.

The Dust Brothers are the Los Angeles, California based, Grammy Award winning producers, E.Z. Mike (Michael Simpson[1]) and King Gizmo (John King), famous for their sample-based music in the 1980s and 1990s, and specifically for their work on the albums Paul's Boutique by the Beastie Boys, Odelay by Beck, and the soundtrack to the film Fight Club
