Sadly enough, Jim was buried in a rickety, wooden box without a headstone by his junky girlfriend Pamela Courson. The ceremony was quick & hurried, pathetic at least. Not until the resurgence of The Doors popularity in 1981(because of the biography No One Here Gets Out Alive) did Jim finally receive a headstone. It pains me that people actually believe Pamela gave a red cent about this man who funded her every action, mostly for heroin. Choose your friends wisely, do not blink an eye.

@TheRagedHalomaster Michael Jackson was pretty strange & a drug addict as well yet had a 2 month funeral. Jim chose a junkie girlfriend to preside over his well being in an unfamiliar country & this is why his gravesite was without a headstone for over a decade. And though I didn't know Jim personally, I did know Danny Sugerman, the manager of The Doors & a good friend to Jim from '68-'71.

@dualityofman999 and pamela died 3 years later after jim so she was buried next to him. he wasnt buried next to her. and u gotta realize that yes he was loved by so many ppl but alot of people thought he was crazy so he didnt get the best funeral. so? hes a legend either way

Got to meet Ray briefly for the Hard Rock cafe commemoration, a very down-to-earth fellow and as kind as he could be to serious and heartened Doors fan here. One degree of separation..LOL. I felt a certain sadness visiting Jim in Paris as well, you can't help but feel it when you get there...a beautiful place to visit to this day. Cheers everyone.
