@crazycrows1 it wasn't about defending a nation, more of defending the right to live free and peaceful. It was about defending those loved ones back home from the evil third reich. These brave lads, of all forces, American, British, Canadian, Austrailian etc, all fought united against the same enemy for the same reasons, god bless them all.

A country founded by convicts and the lower class of the British Empire, vagabonds and the world desperate looking for their last chance in life. i would, with out a weapon, go to war and lay down my life with out a second thought. not because of my mad Irish ancestory, but because I love my country with every ounce of my being, but only because every ounce of my being is Australian.

@crazycrows1 They went through all that trouble defending it so you could go and say something stupid like that. I see by your statement that unfortunately some people don't understand how lucky they are to live with the freedoms that these people fought for. You may feel it's not worth defending, but that's because you take for granted everything that has been hard-earned for you. If this country didn't earn the world so many liberties, you would have been hung up for treason for saying that.
