This is my second attempt at covering Brandi Carlile's song "That Year." I already had done this before more than a year ago, I think, but I recently thought I'd do it again cuz there were some wordplay that I'd gotten wrong, and just to see how much I've progressed in my singing abilities.
Apparently, my singing hasn't change a lot, but I think I've gotten more confident, and my voice has gotten a little smoother(?), or whatever.
Anyway, I hope y'all can tell the difference! If not, whatevs! I think I've done my best, well...maybe not my best, but it's better than before.
In my head, my voice sounds a little decent, but then when I hear myself on my video, it sounds a little different. and I'm wondering if it's me, or if it's the audio recording capabilities. Maybe it's a bit of both! Does anyone out there know how to really and truly record your voice the way it actually sounds inside and outside of your head? Odd question isn't it, but I think someone out there knows what I mean. Right?
You always hear your own voice deeper than it actually is.
This is because the vibration travels through your jaw to your ears. Your ears pick up this dampened vibration, while others hear the vibrations through the air.
So your voice is slightly higher than you yourself hear it.
