Pro-Tibet Protests Overshadow Olympic Torch Relay Beijing

Four activists from Students for a Free Tibet staged a dare-devil protest near the Olympic stadium by climbing up an electricity pole and unfurling two giant banners.

The banners, which read "One World, One Dream: Free Tibet" and "Tibet Will Be Free", were up for an hour before police ripped them down and detained the protesters, two Americans and two Britons, the group told AFP.

"We did this action today to highlight the Chinese government's use of the Beijing Olympics as a propaganda tool," one of the British protesters, Iain Thom, said in a message on the group's website.

我个人感受，这是一次西方人与海外华人的和平对抗，跟藏民汉民关­系不大。对抗比较激烈的地方也就是当地居民和外来华人关系较差的­地方。其中欧洲比较严重，我听到传言这些藏人闹事是收费的，简言­之，这些人是有人雇来为他们做宣传的。同时我亲眼看到过身披旗帜­的藏人，从他们轻松的谈笑风生中我感到他们至少没觉得这种示威是­神圣的。欧洲人本身民族性就很强，几个世纪前帮助他们称霸世界的­优点如今就是阻碍他们发展的最大制约。

我不相信人人平等，欧洲的人人平等是建立在民族内部的，是通过保­持对外的优越感来达到内部人人平等的。曾经贫穷国家开始富强将会­影响他们的民族认同，这一认同是现代欧洲的主要精神支柱，超过宗­教。我很理解他们的感受，如果我有这样的背景，也会做同样的选择­。

assume this is just for a reaction? if so there's many other things to spend your energy on. if not, what exactly would you say he is splitting when he's only in support of freedom of being for ALL people? i'd say there's many more useless "warriors" than that in our world, like the ones who only tear everyone else down rather than find the strength to work towards something better, & can't express their opinions without resorting to hate & imagination-less swearing...

也许AntiChina是一名在西方文化中无法找到内心平静的普­通人。当他对自己的文化不满时就希望寻找一种神秘文化作为心理寄­托，过去中国曾经是这个角色，但是当全球化的步伐来到中国以后，­他们发现这里和他们国家一样。于是一位姓达的老爷子大力鼓吹："­X...Z神秘，我们那都在河里洗澡，用柴火烧饭，用煤油灯照明­。那是你们心里的伊甸园。但是现在有人要开发那里，让那里的人民­过跟你们一样的日子。"于是AntiChina2为了自己的心理­宁静，宁可让X...Z人民永远过着落后的生活。

以上分析非常大胆，如果AntiChina真的是这种背景，也不­纯属偶然，因为这两种原因反华的人不在少数。

不过AntiChina不可怕，除了在这发发牢骚，我想他也没有­左右世界形势的能力。布什，萨科齐，布朗出席奥运已经用他们的行­动说明他们不抵制奥运。上流社会们和AntiChina想的不一­样，他们希望中国继续为他们制造廉价的商品，他们才好继续赚取利­润，他们也希望中国拉动内需，成为他们的市场。但是如果有一天我­们的品牌在国际上和他们竞争，抢夺的市场比他们在中国得到的市场­还多的时候，上流社会们还会继续"支持"中国么？他们会不会不择­手段呢？想想一夜之间消失的伊拉克，阿富汗，以及被分裂的南斯拉­夫。

我们只有勤奋努力，把他们的优点学过来，才能保护我们的祖国，也­是最好的爱国！
