  • I keep coming back to this rather short clip because I am totally captivated by the sweetness and innocence of her voice and singing.

I saw this documentary a couple of years ago and was very moved by this family's love for eachother and commitment to music.

I hope to see this entire performance one day. Hopefully someone has the video.

  • This clip has just moved me... I mean I can't stop crying when I hear these few lines. Everytime even if I control myself i end up in tears. I can see God in her.

  • Smt. Viji Subramaniam was a divine soul… She was a blessed daughter of Goddess Saraswati and hence was called back from the Earth early…

Her sweet voice and her way of rendering is etched with innocence and devotion… I experience such emotions from this short clip…

Can someone please throw details of this song? Lyrics? Thanks for uploading the video... It's the only one on the net...

  • the total family of L subramaniam sir has dedicatedtheir total life to music so proud that south india has such a music family hats of to music

  • @TSDhir I feel the same way. Thank you for expressing your real feelings. In my instance, some Meera Bhajans sung by some singers have the same kind of effect. It is a feeling of ecstasy tinged with the deep sorrow of being separated from the Compassionate One (whatever name you call it by.) Have you listened to an album where Shreemati Viji sang with Pandita Lakshmi Shankar. There are some very moving bhajans there too. Shreemati Viji had true bhakti unadulterated by celebrity.

    Shantihi!

  • Absolutely Fantastic...a testament to music itself. Superb!

  • is n't she wife of Lsubramanyam .. she passed away early in life .. so sorry .. such a great voice

  • RIP Viji, I still remember you making me and my sister chicken curry. You had a great light about you that I will always miss. Seeing this brought a tear to my eye. You sound great as always. -i. gardner
