The Impact of Nationalism on the Development of 21st Century China
Dr. Pei is a Senior Associate of the Asia programme at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, Washington D.C. He earned his PhD at Harvard University and his areas of expertise include East Asia, domestic Chinese affairs and U.S.-China relations.
Dr. Pei addressed the important issue of increasing nationalism in China today and the effect that this will have on Chinas internal stability and its relations with both Asian and Western partners.

It's reflexive in many Chinese students abroad these days over mention of any problems that make it out of the Middle Kingdom and into the world press or Tibet or the Uyghur issue or Taiwan, for example. (Politically immature, anti-intellectual and frustrating when encountered.)
