  • I want to understand this syndrome but honestly it sounds like anyone could just claim to have it. I hope you'll comment back or write me so I can discuss this POTS with you. Thanks.

  • in order to actually be diagnosed with POTS you normally have to take a Tilt Table Test, as explained. You can't "fake" low blood pressure and super high heart rates.

  • Hey - awesome video! I'm 25, I have POTS, and it sucks. but having an awesome friend like that helps loads, I know. Keep on with what your doing - education is the best way to fight!

  • definately!

  • I'm glad you made these, its been an education and the bloopers were amusing! I wish you well in the future.

  • thanks!

  • You cant fake a tilt table test - elevated heart rate for a length of time upon being tilted. POTS is an easily diagnosed condition with unequivical methods of diagnosis.

  • POTS isn't uncommon, 1 in every 100 teens has it..

  • So glad to see we're getting the word out about POTS! I've had it since June of 2006 after a horse accident. Not fun but just have to remember to take life one day at a time! :) Hope you're doing well!

  • Great Video. thanks for making us more aware.

  • well i now someone who did so that means you can :| x

  • POTS often causes high BP. Dehydration would cause someone with real POTS to go into shock, or autonomic storm and end up in ER on an IV drip. People without POTS would not develop HYPOTENSION on a TILT test, unless they spent months in bed, and didn't move. That would lead to decompensation and would indeed lead to passing out when standing up. (Doctors can spot who is dehydrated, and who is not). You have to have lots of baseline measurements taken before it's safe to go ahead with the test.

  • people can, and i know people who have, but not with POTS. (just saying not trying to be mean)

like for example people could maybe not eat or drink for a while before they take the test or maybe they could stay awake for a while - all three together would definitely make a person pass out

also when you hyperventilate your heart can go really fast so it is possible

  • Fun and informative video, seems like you have a great support in your friends! I'm sixteen and also have POTS. It's such a difficult disorder to diagnose and live with, I think it's great that you're getting the word out there. Keep fighting! Lol
