  • flowers, especially ones with pointy or sharp leaves, will definitely stab through the thin mylar. That happened to me and it wasn't easy to repair.

  • Well done on the elevator modification!

Did you find that the elevator added any maneuverability? When we did it, it didn't really provide a substantial gain in performance over the rudder only version.

  • Not really. The hinge-act just doesn't have enough force to be able to pull the plane out of a dive - perhaps I made the elevator too large? When flying very slowly, I noticed that you could turn the plane on a dime in a fairly flat turn, however. That was probably the only difference. Other than that it's as you said: no substantial gain.

  • cool. i have a carbon butterfly. does the modified one fly good.and on your micro does the battery fall of allot when you fly or crash

  • The modified one doesn't fly that well, but it can fly a LOT slower than the stock one. The CG is too far back, since you can't move the RX/Battery any further forward without serious changes.

  • I would love to see them flying (especially the modified one).

    Good job ;)

  • sorry for late reply. I will try and get a flying video. Video recorders are not allowed where I work (design studio), and since that's the only place I really fly I will have to work something else out.

  • they are both fun machines to fly. I don't yet have a micro warbird, but I think I would enjoy it as well. For me, the carbon butterfly is great because of it's slow flight characteristics along with a great power to weight ratio. The micro is fun too, but you have to plan your flight path out a little more accurately when flying around obstacles, as it will lose altitude in a turn pretty quickly.

  • i had got my carbon butterfly and it broke just like that..... it was to fragile for me hah but what do u like better since you have experieced the micro.......the micro or the micro spitfire are my next choices

  • my moms flowers ate my carbon butterfly :(

  • why buy this when you cloud make one you self for less than 25 dollars

  • hmmmm.... does it fly ????

  • it's a magnetic type

  • is the elv. & rud control by a mini servo or is it the magnetic type.

  • should i get a micromav or the micro butterfly

  • Did you modify the controller too or what, how do you control the elevator?
