i cant believe it! russian warbird in germany? damn.......those nazis never gave up are they?

Technically, it's neither a Yak-3 or Yak-9, or any other WW-II vintage Yak fighter. This aircraft was originally built as a radial engine Yak-11, then rebuilt with an Allison engine and modified to resemble a Yak-3.

@77fsAugur nope. It's Yak-9U

What a beautiful aircraft, and a very skilled pilot. Thank you for posting.

~Excellent piloting..!!!

Very good video and an excellent job of work by the pilot!

It's not yak-9, it's yak-3

The radiator p51 aft of the cowling gives it a ЯК 1 (Yak 1) profile!

Hi Paddy, Thanks for videoing this wonderful Yak 9 that I have the privilege (and joy!) to fly for the Air Fighter Academy. Did you 'film' the landing as Breitscheid is a short runway for the Yak 9? Come over and say 'Hi' when we are next displaying the Yak next year. I think it is the most wonderful fighter to display!
Happy Landings,
Clive
