Reggae was a product of ska. Ska was created by an American R&B adaptation. Pioneered by Prince Buster, Laurel Aitken, Desmond. Reggae didn't exhist before 1972'ish. Ska started in the late 50s.

hate to be the stickler here, dude...but ska was the first music genre out of Jamaica, it came first. Bob Marley has even said he was influenced by Desmond Dekker
