One of the better known songs from Liverpool, this has been covered by many folk groups in particular, The Spinners (not to be confused with the Detroit Spinners).

  • do you know where i could find the song castles in the air by the spinners by any chance? I have been looking for that song for 5 years on and off now since my tape got eaten ! This is wonderful thanks for uploading :)

  • The only song of that name I know is the one Don McLean wrote and performed which can be found simply by entering the title in the search box.

  • LOVE IT :D

  • Thank you. Always happy to hear that.

  • Great Thanks for that... Do you have any Spinners stuff on Video from the TV days???>

  • Further to my last reply, I have just been sent a video response to my version of '

Whip Jamboree' which contains a short view of the Spinners singing some of that song.

  • Good job and great spirit! ...I love this song Luke Kelly sung.

  • It's songs like this that make me wish Uilleann pipes weren't so expensive. I've been wanting to get my grubby paws on a set of those for some time now...

  • Yes, this is on an album 'The Spinners in Concert', and there's a copy for sale at the moment on eBay. Hope this helps. This album was originally named 'All Day Singing'.

  • Great stuff! Happy days in the mid-sixties at Jaccqui & Bridie's "Coach House Club" in the Mill Street Mission. Saw some terrific acts there. Was it Mondays or Wednesdays? Like I said: Happy days! We must have been the luckiest generation ever.

  • Another great song!! Good job on the singing and playing Tony.
