unheralded genius like a lot of jazz artist, a great song only true jazz fans can appreciate it.
-
His overall approach is totally individualistic and alarmingly beautiful....as good Jazz is supposed to be. He's in the the Pantheon with Mingus, Ornette, Sun Ra, and all the others, including Monk, who dared to stretch the boundaries of European theory and further expose the essence of the Human Soul....

Some SERIOUS circular breathing here.

grazie Roland, per le perle che ci hai lasciato.

THe guy was a great master.

I have the studio version of this and they are almost identical! I love Rahsaan and played the hell out of this music and learned it as part of my lessons. Starts out with a 'Giant Steps' hook, Lover man, Good Morning Heart Ache, he never lets us forget . No nostalgia but exercise of history to be an exponent of black culture, definitely a GLADIATOR! Some thought he was a CHARLATAN- Fc

Thanks for the video. I bought a lot of Rahsaan Roland Kirk's records in the 70's and 80's but never got to see him perform which was the norm back then. Most of the jazz performers could be heard on records but rarely seen. So let's not quibble about the asynchronous nature of what we are seeing. It is really just the music that matters.

Thanks for the video's, Rahsaan was the best and always will be.
Better watch this in low quality, tone and picture are asynchronous in hi quality - don't know why.
