Use FRAPS and then get a video studio (I used Pinnacle Studio 12) and convert to mpeg. It gives better quality and reduces the file size.
Not bad though for DarkBasic. Keep at it. I myself am using Dark GDK since I prefer the c++ language for programming.

I use Cam Studio, mine used to look like urs and it turned out to be the codec I used to use Microsoft Video 1 and I now use Cinepac Codec by Radius. It works very good. try that.
