  • KoreaTKD, Many foreigners only understand federations. They think of Choi Hong Hi as only ITF. They do not realize even more he is Chang Hun, and Oh Do Kwan is many years the senior of ITF. The hyung you preform are the same as the original Chang Hun Hyungs. Keep up the hard work, you are an inspiration

  • You are right. Many foreigners don't understand old style Chang-hun patterns.

Thank you for your reply. Thank you.

  • Too rigid in the execution. Patterns should be done at the pace of breathing. Breathe in then execute on the exhalation. Last 3 scooping blocks were way too fast and too high. Power was good though. Wont dispute that.

  • ^^;;

  • Wonderful demonstration of Tae Kwon Do patterns. This one particularly good. The movements make more sense than the newly taught and unfortunately often exaggerated sine wave (double sine wave) movements these days.

  • Thank you for your advice.

  • @oginokoe yes the sine wave is a bit annoying, but it does make it look better

  • @SpookeySVG yes but Oh Do Kwan was led by Choi`s men and students. today many styles of TKD are all around the world, but if you look back the ITF is Choi`s original.

  • wow your kicks are fast! nice job.

but i have to agree that your scoops are a little to quick at the end.

but still a really good job! ^^

  • Thanks. Learning this today in the Sun. What part of Korea is this class?

  • This is great! It is a pity that most people rarely see these hand techniques used in TKD performances or in competition.

  • The power and hard work are unmistakeable here. ITF is a little "prettier," but it's to my understanding that TKD found a lot of its roots in the military, which is NOT pretty. ;D

I'd rather see this power than something pretty any day. The purpose in your movements is outstanding, sir.

  • ...of course every style can be the perfect, it matter that what level we do like.

I respect everybody who REALLY DO something!

  • Martial arts always change, shape and develop, like the whole world is changing.

Taekwon-do also has changed in the modern term as well during the approximately sixty years. So, it is natural that in 1955 (for example) tkd movement, motion was different, than in 2000s ...or today end of the 2010.

(like any other style) but In my opinion Choi Hong Hi created TKD (from ancient korean styles and some other styles) and the original (ITF) is a perfect martial art and fight sport as well.

  • @Kinghercules ..."be real about the history"...does anyone even know what it is anymore, lol. I agree with you my friend. Honestly, I dont care where who learned what, I believe I can learn something from anyone!
