You can save money with this energy efficient idea! Make sure you have proper ventilation for your radiant barrier using soffit vents and ridge vents.

  • It is a product better fit for hotter climates. If you seal your ceiling well, and insulate it well like R-60, there isn't enough heat going into the attic to justify a radiant barrier. Southern hot climates can really gain from putting it on rafters. It does not hold up well on attic floors here, people walk through it and tear it up, rodents, dust.

  • @sherimclemore

you said handy and lip service in the same sentence......I dig it

  • This will do nothing for keeping heat IN THE HOUSE. During the winter the heat will just leak into the attic and not be reflected down. Making no difference on heating cost JUST cooling cost. Placing an RB (radiant barrier) on top of the insulation will keep heat down in the home in the winter and the hot air out in the summertime. If you want the ultimate coverage you would do both a rafter staple and lay the RB over the existing insulation.

  • Entertain me? Speak closer to the mic and I might be able to hear you.

  • this guy is like the teacher we had in high school that tried to be hip and clever, and just came off as white and nerdy...

  • Hey dadudney, don't pay any attention to the people knocking your little performance. I guess that they're to ignorant to understand that you're just acting goofy, to maintain the listeners atttention. Did a pretty good job of it too. I've seen this video before, and, like most others, I thought it was pretty melodramatic. But, now, months later, I see your point. It actually took some guts to do a goofy performance like that. Carry on, somebody will listen.

    be cool

  • patronising painful waffle

  • @sherimclemore I concur, he was over whelming and extremely irritating, with a sense of humor like Bob Saget. He convinced me in absolutely nothing. 3 key things to sell. 1)presentation, 2) demonstration 3) timing .. He failed in all three.

I'm in the Insulation Trade, for many years now.. This guy is going no where, anytime soon..

  • First impression: Irritating!! Here's why:

    a.) GET TO THE POINT

b.) tone comes off as condescending

You said you use vents, but you didn't demonstrate HOW! I'm a not-so-handy girl & I need more than lip service.

  • Thanks for the hair comment at the end. You just alienated one out of four of us. Next video try making an erectile dysfunction reference. Oops, sorry...didn't know.
