Ubuntu comes with some tools pre installed that can help solve problems you may encounter when using Ubuntu. The tools I discuss in this screencast are the system monitor, the log file viewer and the network tools.

I didn't have the time to go through all what you can do with those tools so if you need to know more just ask.

KsystemLog can be found in the synaptic package manager.

  • xorg cpu usage is very high for you. Have u got it setup correctly, should only be using 2-3% cpu usage

  • It usually is at only 2% or less but it goes up when i'm using gtk-recormydesktop.
