I picked up this little Zino HD 400 for $349.00 from Dell

It only has a AMD dual core 1.5 ghz cpu and 3gb ram but Radeon HD4330 (optinal in most configureation but well worh it) has 512 GDDR memory and windows 7 gives it a 5.9 in the 3d graphics. It have watched online tv like Hulu dvd movies and Netflix movies. I was tired of watching on a small screen and couldnt hear the sound on my laptop. If you use an HDMI input make sure the sound in the control panel is set to HDMI by default else no sound from your tv.
I am very happy with this unit and would recommend it to anyone wanting a home theater pc. It uses only 40 watts when watching a dvd movie and is small with all the ports needed including 2 E-SATA. No firewire. The 3 gb ram I got with mine is fine for my needs. A real bargin for $349.00 while the price lasts. The 780G and the Radeon 4330 make a great video combo.
The picture I was showing is the Zino with the optional ati mobility 4330. It adds a video card a copper heatsink and maybe another fan, I am not sure about that.

  • I am not sure but I think blu ray was or is an option. I don't buy movies anymore since I joined netflix. I rarely ever watch a movie more than once. I do use my Zino on a daily bases though and it has been problem free. I think it might be the best idea Dell ever came up with. I dumped cable years ago and there is so much content on the Internet. It has enough power to do things right You got to find them on sell to get a good deal through.

  • I can't answer that because I haven't used it. Video is a very important part of any computer. I have read it work's ok without the ati 4330 but haven't tried it. If you can afford the extra $75.00 I think it's well worth it. Dell has sells from time to time so google Dell sells, they don't usually show up on dell website. The 4330 has 256mb of it's own memory so it does not take away from the system memory.

  • i was thinking about geting either one of these or a 560s from dells website plz reply if u think the 560s is better

  • @flamingbunny23 This is kind of big and more power use vs small and low power use. The Zino has the option with the Ati 4330 graphics, and is a decent video card. I think the Zino with at least the 3250e(1.6 dual core) and the ati 4330 graphics is the better machine and would be my choice. I really do wish I had bought 2 at this price to replace my desktop.I am that impressed with it and I am not always so impressed with Dell.

  • I am curious to find out about HD playback and sound over HDMI. Do you have any issues playing 1080p content. What issues did you have with sound over HDMI? I am thinking about buying an zino Hd and would appreciate any advice i can get. What to order and what not to order.

    Thank you

  • The sound issue is when I turn on my tv and boot the computer some times I get no sound. If I change my tv input to another source and back to HDMI is works fine and always works after that.

I don;t know if it's my tv or the Zino. I would get the X2 cpu and the AMD 4330 video upgrade. It is supposed to support 1080p but I have no way to test it other than say you tube and that works fine. Look for sales at Dell they can save a lot of money and go for Zino HD 400 model.
