@SpaceWalkTraveller Hello all, Almost any kind of seed can be sprouted with this method. I use organic raw seeds with the shells still on and do not soak the seeds first. Make sure the soil is soaked with no standing water. If the seeds are hard to take off just give them a tad more sunlight and they'll open up earlier. I put them in the sink and wash them off also. Just rinse and bag the sunnys and take the seeds off as you use them. If the trays crack, just double them up.
;') your absolutely right about "starvation." Could you clarify do the raw sunflower seeds you used to plant still have the shells on them? It's hard to see in the video. Beginners won't know if you are planting with the shells or without? I think that's why the soaking method is used when there is no shells. thank you for a great video;')
Can you tell me why do some growers soak their seeds before putting them in the soil? Why spend all those days soaking when you can just skip that step and put them directly into the soil? Are those trays you use recyclable? thanks;')))
@BlessedDove If they did it wouldn't surprise me. Dr Ann Wigmore chose wheatgrass to juice in the 50's because her cat chose it over the other sprouted grains she tried. People soak to get a head start in ground or tray time. It is time consuming may add to the mold issue. I don't think the trays recycle well, but why would you throw them away? Jack
Thanks for the video very helpful. Can you grow wheatgrass, barley grass and snow peas like this?
