You shouldn't be shooting that caliber, you cant even handle the recoil correctly. Dont be scared of it and dont sit like that. I'm surprised you didn't get hit in the eye with the scope. Put your weight behind the rifle to brace for the recoil not to where it knocks you on your arse. Dont fight the recoil, let it do its thing and for gods sake dont pull your head back after the shot. Have you ever shot an animal? Best way to loose an animal or miss your shot completely you lack follow through.

yea i have the savage weather warrior in the 270 wsm shooting winchestor hollowpoint ballistics. the gun does indeed kick like a bitch. i have a winchestor 30-06. stainless with synthetic stock just like my 270 wsm. id be willing to say that the 30-06 feels like a 243 after i shoot the wsm. the wsm is so fast and flat though. it is a good strong caliber very dependable.. i have yet to have a deer run over 30 yards. it does tear half the deer up though so only neck shots unless hes trophy.
