  • what is this lathe what is it used for i would love to see more vid of it when its back together

    The faceplate is 9ft 2" diameter, so the lathe could be used to turn anything up to that size and a bit beyond - Stationary engine flywheels, or perhaps the large wheels on traction engines (which is the most likely future use for it with the new owner!)

    Still there - have 550ft to send off for telecine shortly.

    This was just unplanned grab shots with a digi-cam, not even a video camera!

    Hence the sometimes questionable technical elements.

  • That's good, will look forward to seeing that. I haven't shot any 16mm with my Bolex as yet. Got 1200ft of film sitting in the fridge waiting to go.
