could you pls tell me when and how you released your sparrows. we raise 4 from this stage they're about 4 weeks now and fly freely around our bathroom. i put out perches and peanutbutter pinecones covered in seed (which they strip clean) I'm just not sure what age to release them. and funny thing even though we raised them from babies they still have a healthy fear of us and always fly away from us. any comment appreciated.
Hi i got 4 baby sparrows livin in my garage. the mom has been there everyday since the nest even apppeared there, but today it flew in and flew right back out. she already reconizes me cause she didn't fly away when i walked near the nest. i'm not sure if she has abandon them yet but i want to be prepared to rescue these babies just in case the mom has abandon them. now i just got 3 questions..how long can they survive without food? How can you tell if they are a boy or a girl?
We just found a baby today on the job. He appears to be about 9 days old. We've done this before and when you find an older baby it helps to play a video like this to soothe them. The first day is the toughest since they're used to be fed by mama. We've managed to get quite a bid of food down him so far.
This is so cute! I might even think about raising baby sparrows myself!

At the rehab center we use tiny syringes, might be easier for you. But you have to be careful not to get it down the wrong "pipe."
