just imagine the film cast away with tom hanks...

"ah yes, and this is how...AAAH MY HANDS ON FIRE...lol i best put it down first XD"

the bow is not the easiest way and it actually needs a lot of fiddley components-the aboriginal way, still very hard work-with soft wood split base and hard wood (very straight) and the ideal fuel is dried wallaby/roo dung-its very light and friable-still even the indigenous people shared the stick twisting-you really have to do it for a while

Bow = stick
String = from your shoes; if you wear shoes with no laces in the backcountry, I feel sorry for you.
Spindle = stick; a straight one will make your life easy
Base wood with hole = made with a camping / utility knife, which you should have with you any time you are in a situation where you might get stuck outside and need a fire.
This method is fast and effective, only takes a few minutes to setup the bow and spindle, and even people with the most sensitive hands can do this.

I wish someone could teach us how to make a fire with 2 sticks not with a bow and a stick

Hey Guy, I like to use leather for my bow string. Wrap the string around the stick firmly. put the stick on your flat piece on wood (harth), using a rock or another piece of wood to hold the stick stable, move the bow back and forth, firmly holding the stick. But the key is to have a notch on the side of the flat piece of wood so that hot wood stuff is contained. plant dry flowering in your dry grass works best. I perfer to use to soft woods (cider, redwood, pine) Good Luck and be Safe!
