  • Life was never like this; life never has been the way it's shown in commercials. Life has always been complicated because humans have always been complicated. For many housewives of this era, Tupperware parties represented all that was cloying and oppressive about the roles they were expected to play. For a great depiction of this (rather than a cute commercial one), check out Margaret Laurence's scathing description of a "Superware" party in her 1960s novel The Fire Dwellers.

  • Oh yeah... now girls look like sailors (tattoos), walk like sailors, talk like sailors... men will always sleep with them, but funny thing... men aren't marrying them much anymore. Anyone over 45 here? Remember the way women walked? Now they walk like your uncle. The truth is the feminist movement feminized MEN and emasculated women. Now young men are incapable of linear logic or critical thinking. They pluck their friggin' eyebrows... sad.

  • @laughingtiger123 I could not have said it better myself!!

  • Love it!

  • Here is how femme men have become, as a result of the feminist movement (largely driven by... lesbian women, by the way...interesting, no?). If you are speaking of how people were more civil and respectful of each other and that you miss the old days.... a guy today will say "oh, yeah.... bring back slavery! You idiot!" These days, feelings and emotions rule the day. And a lot of people vote accordingly, based on feelings and appearances.

  • @laughingtiger123 You are not only 100% correct, you have such an honest and sarcastic way of putting it. Really made me laugh.

  • @laughingtiger123 Amen! Change is NOT always a good thing. Bring back the good old days!

  • I personally am one that feels that the "Women's Lib" Movement was detrimental to the family and was the beginning of what is now the many broken familys we have today. I am a homemaker with 3 boys and another baby on the way and a Tupperware Lady. I aspire to do what I can to bring what we see here back to a reality.

  • People were capable of critical thought in the '50s/'60s? My god, your glasses must be especially rose-tinted!

  • All I can say is... TUPPERWARE!

    lol
