TEDxTransmedia was organized in the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized. (Subject to certain rules and regulations.)
That's why I am opaque to all this stuff. I don't buy fantasy. I remain grounded in provable reality. I got away from the skill of pretending. I was afraid of Dungeons & Dragons, and the deeper the fanaticism to it, the more freaked I got. What this guy embraced, I ran from. I avoid religions, political parties, and any kind of fandom. Who's the better-off, I wonder?

A new challenge for story telling, according to Jeff Gomez: Thinking about grand narratives, we can think about something like religion: a system of symbols and texts which establish powerful, long lasting moods within people, by telling us stories that make sense in our reality; stating these stories as absolute fact, which makes these moods uniquely realistic." Oh boy, that's where the future of publishing lies...I'd include experiences into the mix too!
