New York's SWINGTIME Big Band, led by Steve Shaiman, performs at Lincoln Center's Midsummer Night Swing festival in June 2007. This was the world premiere of a new arrangement of this Broadway standard from "Finian's Rainbow" written by Swingtime pianist Bruce Shulman specifically to feature vocalist Bobbie Ruth. I hate to be critical because it's a decent version but here goes:
Even though this song only has about 14 lines of lyrics, you can't give a proper performance of it as a big band in under 3 minutes.
There are better versions on youtube, although I'm partial to Akiko's version off her T Sunaga produced album. Hunt that one down and you'll see a much sturdier arrangement.
Those criticisms aside, still commendable. This song seems to have unfortunately fallen out of favor with jazz bands.
