@ethernet1978 Funny thing is, the adapter still hasn't come in yet! I will tell you when I get the adapter.

Did it work with the WD5000AAKS??? I have the same HDD I want to use
-
Which harddrive do use exactly?

@ZatRVL Why can't you use XBOXHDM? I have tried setting the jumper in every which way and all of them worked the same, except for the slave setting I believe. I had the jumper set to master when I built the drive with XBOXHDM.

Did the dvd drive work after you did this? I have a 500GB Western Digital WD5000AAKS that isn't listed on the xbox compatibility chart so I'm not sure if it supports locking yet. I ordered the same adapter as the one is this video last sunday, hasn't come in yet.

What size drive did you use here?
Is there any advantage in putting in a Sata drive into the Xbox? I would think that the adapter, needing to translate Sata to IDE, would hinder the process making readspeeds slower than just if you used an IDE drive.
I'm not trying to troll this video, I'm legitimately curious why you would do this.

@SatoshiMatrix1 It is a 1.5 terabyte drive in the video. You are completely right, the adapter needs to translate SATA to PATA, which creates a total bottleneck and making it ultimately slower than having just a PATA drive. The reason why my friend is plain and simple, SPACE. Do you know how many original Xbox games or emulators and roms someone could put on these large SATA drives? One other reason is economical, large SATA drives are a hell of a lot cheaper than large PATA drives.

If I have a 2.5" sata drive, is there an adapter caddy you might suggest?

@axlingeric Adapter caddy? I'm not totally sure what you mean there. Do you mean a different Hard Drive Caddy or an IDE/SATA adapter? If you mean the Hard Caddy, you shouldn't need a different one just use your 2.5 in place of a 3.5, and if you mean a IDE/SATA adapter then just follow the link I put in my video description.
