@Jradgex It wasn't as straight forward for him to just say that line in a way like the Doctor been defeated, they had a few takes beforehand, getting the right emotion across, but that was obviously chosen as it probably made sense for the Doctor in that moment. Everything he'd just been through with the Time Lords, the Master, knowing he'd have to "die" and everyone he'd known wouldn't know him like that ever again. I think you'd feel a little defeated and distraught as well.
