Immerse yourself in a dream landscape: a group of six dancers, draped in whirling costumes unfurl like lotus flowers and begin a delicate slow dance of unparalleled simplicity and poetic beauty. The interplay of large and small gestures creates a potent, hypnotic environment of image, sound, and performance. In their Chicago debut, internationally acclaimed Japanese company Sankai Juku performs their unique, award-winning Butoh, incorporating stunning imagery and delicate yet hyper-controlled movements, with a lyrical and electronic score by Takashi Kako and Yoichiro Yoshikawa.

Part of the MCA Global Stage series.
Copresented with the Harris Theater and The Dance Center of Columbia College Chicago.
