It's easy to be a critic, and I don't really like to be one, but this is not up to a black belt level. Nowhere near. The techniques are "shortened" for the sake of "speed"...and speed is miserable. Such a strongly built guy, and no kime whatsoever! Oi zuki is just "throwing of the fist off the hip", no real punch there. This guy needs to revisit the basics, this should have never been posted for the whole world to watch. Really sorry, but there is nothing good here, except good will.

I am a 2nd degree brown belt (testing for 1st at the moment) and can do better than this. Not to mention I'm also a 15 year old girl.

Ok this kinda stuff drives me nuts...That is a very sad attempt...PLEASE do not use this video or any of his videos to learn Shotokan kata...Not sure how you got a 5 dan, but if this is the crap the JKA is picking up that is sad...Real kata videos see Master Kanazawa, not this guy (unless he is grading you!)

just a few points...no Kime, relaxed fists, thumb sticking out, toes pointed out in Mae geri (great way to break some toes)

@JRBouncerz2010 haha yeah it's either open hand or CLOSE THAT FIST BRA!! You'd have a rough time doing that for a black belt test at my old SKA dojo... Still not hating, just a pointer. Very nice kata selection though!

I agree, its easy to be a critic, but come on.... I'm just a yellow belt, I got less than 1 year training, and I definitely can do best than that.... u should train more, and improve your kata skills before post it here.... shame on you, really!
