Mt. Carmel vs. Whitney Young 2008 IHSA Class 4A Boys Basketball Sectional Final

March 7, 2008- Mt. Carmel began the 2008 Class 4A IHSA Boys Basketball Tournament as the 11th seed in their section. The Caravan knocked off three teams in the Top 20 to set up a Sectional Final meeting at Proviso East against the Whitney Young Dolphins who began the season ranked #1 in the State of Illinois. The Caravan were led down the stretch by freshman Tracy Abrams and by Notre Dame football recruit Steve Filer. The Dolphins had one of the deepest teams in the state including future Division I players Marcus Jordan, A.J. Rompza and Anthony Johnson. Mt.
