Using Outlook 2007 you can link to and share much of the information in Sharepoint 2007. This video will show you three ways doing with. Firstly by linking to a document library, then via calendars and finally via RSS feeds

  • Thank you! This video as great. I didn't know about the calendar overlay. I wasn't able to make changes to the calendar through outlook, but I'll try it again with different permissions.

  • @dawg3294 Happy to help. My new videos are over on channel directorciaops.

    Thanks

  • This is a very helpful video, however a question. The three options in connecting SharePoint to outlook all are about making changes to the SharePoint side, and how that pushes over to the Outlook side... what about making changes to the documents in the outlook folder or the outlook calendar- would those changes push back to the SharePoint side?

  • If you are using Outlook 2007 then changes are pushed back, if you are using anything prior to Outlook 2007 then no changes get pushed back.

    Thanks

    Robert

  • This is great. Thanks. Question - Can I have a sent mail (from my outlook account) be placed in the Sharepoint Shared Documents folder in Outlook to be published on my sharepoint site?

  • Yes. You can enable SharePoint document libraries to be email aware. That means they have an email address which when sent to will store both the message and the attachment in the document library.

    Thanks

    Robert

  • @raymondbradwell Appreciate the feedback.

  • Perfect way to display how to do this. I was also thinking to make some videos on this but as these has been already done I am now thinking to make some advance training tutorial.

  • Thank you Robert, for the tutorial. I just got hired by a company that uses SharePoint and I have no idea how to use it, AND I work remotely so don't have anyone to really show me. Can you recommend some supplemental websites or tutorials? Thank you!

  • While I was aware of the overlay, I was not aware about the drag & drop feature.

Thank you for the video :-)

  • nice video!!!

But you missed the "Tasks" integration part.

  • @spyddar: No, I created a work around by using the content type calendar allready available in Sharepoint and edited this one, by adding additional columns.
