  • Just had to come back and say thanks again for telling me about archiving the messages. It has made my Gmail sooooooooooo much better and organized........... Imagine that.... my email is fully organized............. I've never had such a clean email inbox before haha.

  • You are more than welcome. I am here to help! Enjoy your new revolutionized GMail. I know I am!

  • I think the labeling system in Google mail is great but it would be nice if they had a folder system like yahoo mail. I don't always like having 400 emails in my account just sitting there in one long list even though they are labeled. With Yahoo mail your emails can be sorted into folders and as such they aren't all listed at once. I wish Gmail would give you a choice to use folders or the label system.

  • If your issue is that all the e-mails are being listed in your inbox, but you are in fact happy with the ability to label them into groups, take it one step further and archive the labeled e-mails. This will put them away so that they do not show up in one list in your inbox. This would alleviate your concerns about how you "don't always like having 400 emails in [your] account just sitting there in one long list even though they are labeled". I assure you GMail is far superior to anything Yahoo

  • In addition, if you follow my advice and use the archiving system, this will both look and feel like folders. I can't think of any true difference at that point between the two. So voila! You will have folders in GMail.

Note: Archiving is like taking the e-mail and putting it away in a cabinet (or folder, or whatever you want to call it). It's basically a folder. Hehe.

  • Hey Adam you were right. I tried the archiving thing and it works great. I didn't know you could that. Thanks for the help. Now I don't have a whole bunch of mail cluttering up my page :)
