My dog was bitten by large viper, the most venomous snake in Europe, on the nose. This is what he looked like the next day. The vet told me that giving him serum (which I bought for 50 euros) could kill him in case he gets an allergic reaction so he opted for some other injections and some drip for two days. I am not shore which course of action should have been taken because I was given few different (un)professional opinions but I think I was lucky that my dog is young, big and in top physical condition. It was a nice and sunny day on October 29, yet its strange that snakes were still out. But, as Shakespeare put it "It is a bright day that brings forth an adder".
where is this?
how did you know it was a snake bite, did you see it biting (I guess)?

@rvcasa This is in Bosnia and yes I saw the snake. It was sunbathing on a rock when my dog try to sniff it. I told him so many times not to sniff lizards, but he just would not listen. Guess what... he doesn't sniff lizards no more.

Jes he is an interesting character I will post a photo of him. He is not too smart but he is good looking. However, he was smart enough not to growl at Vet as he normaly does. This time he realised he was in trouble. Do you have a dog?
