  • I think this is the most relaxing sport I have ever played and seen. Haven't played since high school, but adored it. Thank you for posting this video.

  • il give u my contact details so if theres a doubles tournament in either association or golf we culd partner up.

  • I am sure that I would be a seven if I am now a ten in association croquet, correct me if I am wrong as I am not a regular in golf croquet player.

  • My handicap is now a ten, I believe that is a seven for golf croquet.

  • o i c. i saw u were on a 16. do u have a gc handicap?

  • As for croquet, I play association croquet. A variation of which I believe is the real croquet. About two years ago when Alistair and I went to Tauranga to play golf croquet, I was amazed that there are only a couple of association croquet members. It struck me that never have I seen so much bureaucracy when it comes to sport, not to mention the militancy of a few individuals. As for the Mount, I am yet to play there.

  • I would imagine that Alistair was the one who mentioned me to you. Because of work commitments at the museum, it has made it difficult for me to enter tournaments. So therefore, I don't travel as much as I would like. I mostly play on the weekends.

  • My name is Duncan Dixon, used to belong to Wamarie club in Wellington and prior to that in Oamaru gardens but now at Mt Maunganui. i been playing since i was 14 years of age for 4 years also. How come ive never heard of you? I think Allister mentioned your name once but... ill look in the year book. do u play ac or gc?

  • One could come to the conclusion that there is a reservoir of magma underneath the earths crust developing in that particular spot. Given that Rotorua in known for it's geothermal activity. But you must admit, the area that we play in is picturesque.

  • And further to your reply, yes the croquet lawns are on a slope. More towards the road adjacent to the club. But of course it can be to ones advantage if they know the course like the back of there hand. Unfortunately we have a small mound developing on one of our greens.
