Actually it wouldn't be that hard to teach your cat how to flush the toliet too. Basicly sit there when there done toliet training grab there paw and flush the toliet. Than give them a treat got to be careful about the sound of the flush so there not confused :P .

Can Toilet Training your Cat be Harmful For our Health????
IF you have 2 bathrooms I guess it's no harm because Kitty can use one bathroom and you can use the other. But if I only have ONE bathroom, me and my cat would have to use the same toilet, isn't this dangerous? Can I get infected with bacteria or anything from my cat?? My cats are indoor cats. They are healthy, but I still get a little worried of using the same toilet as my cat. PLease Answer!

@pinkpanambi -- Good question. Sorry I don't have an answer for you, but I'm not an expert in this area. I'd suggest you speak with your Doctor.
The Center for Disease Control has a website with information on preventing Toxoplasmosis.
"The Toxoplasma parasite does not become infectious until 1 to 5 days after it is shed in a cat's feces."
Keeping the litter tray or toilet clean would seem to be a must for any cat owner.

So my cat, charlie, adapted to the litter bowl right away( he used it the second I put it into the toilet) but now that we are on stage two, he has been holding it for a long time. Any tricks to help him feel comfortable going into the hole?

@MissB2TheLynn Two things that have helped others ... check to make sure the platform is really sturdy, no squeeks or wobbles, next fill the litter bowl up VERY HIGH so that it is a short distance to reach the litter. Good luck!

@CoolKarma Great vid. We're beginning phase 2 with our 5-month-old kitten. She's gone #1 and #2 once each in the hole, but most of the time she holds it for a long while. After about 12 hours we break down and take the platform off. Then she goes right away in the bowl as if back to phase 1. She pooped behind our tub once during this phase. And she's given us signs she needs to go to (successfully) coax us to remove the platform. Could you offer advice for mastering phase 2?

@jessyoakum ... You may want to try making the hole a bit bigger but not so large as the young kitty can fit her whole body inside of it. We put empty plastic bottles around the floor to discourage accidents. If kitty doesn't mind you in the room while she does her business, you may want to just sit with her when you know she has to "go" and give her lots of verbal encouragement. Ready with a cat treat when she sucessfully uses the platform.
