I work as an underwater videographer for a company on the small Thai island of Koh Tao. This is the first underwater film i have produced and it is essentially a promotional diving movie for customers of the shop. Luckily for me there was a 5m long juvenile whaleshark in the area as i entered the water so please enjoy the show!

  • Did you do some sort of course before this? because its awesome, shame about the music :/

  • Hi Ben, cheers for the kind words.

I'm a Television Production student majoring in Camera operation so i've had some experience behind the camera.

This was the first underwater film i made from the first lot of underwater footage i filmed while i was on an underwater videography course. I made many more after this to a much better standard but unfortunately can't post them up cos i'll get in loads of trouble cos of the music rights :( shame.

    cheers,

    scott.

  • oh and i'm going back out there to film a 10 minute underwater documentary in april so watch this space!

  • You MUST know a friend of mine, Elisabeth Lauwerys. Ok she's married to Darius, but I don't remember his surname. lol

I trained and then worked at Koh Tao Cottage for 2 years... I regret leaving nearly every single day.

GREAT VIDEO! But Green Rock without Triggers?

I hope you enjoy your time on KT as much as I did. I'd still be there if I had a work permit... I just couldn't take the visa runs anymore.

Best of luck to you! Cheers for sharing this.

  • hello!

yes Elisabeth was my boss along with Adrian Kaye! The coolest people ever, not a bad word to say about them! absolutely loved my time there and its managed to help me find what i want to do with my life, best experience in the world. And yes....green rock without triggers! lots of trigger pits but no triggers! it's all the juv yellow boxfish scaring them off! ha

back out there in a couple of months to film an independent underwater doc so watch this space!

    cheers

    scott.

  • you are absolute bastards for muting my film, sorry ladies and gents....apparently i'm breaking the law. Personally i think they should find something better to do with their time...

I spent a bit of time on KT and the atmosphere of the place really shines through in your vid. I tell my friends that if ever i go missing they should probably check Koh Tao first, if there is a heaven on earth then surely this is it...thank you....subbed...X
