I absolutely agree. Using the National Guard to bolster the Army's numbers was a bad call from the beginning. These guys are barely trained to the level of Vietnam-era draftees, and are being sent overseas as cannon fodder because the recruiters can't get enough young people to sign up for this bullshit war. I'd sign a Ranger contract today if they could guarantee I'd go to Afghanistan, but as it stands now it's a shitty lotto between risking death for greed (Iraq) or patriotism (The 'Stan).
