Tales of Hearts - Kornerupine Battle

Kornerupine had captured us after the Ameth battle and has been producing Zerom to combine with solidiers in hopes of making crazy psycho Zerom soldiers. If that isn't reason enough to give him a beat down, he also has Kohaku's Fear Spir Rune. ...And his voice is really annoying.

Before battle he goes on about how he's underappreciated, goes a little crazy,a Zerom combines with his Spir Rune, and then he goes really crazy. Time to battle.

Pretty easy fight, though he can be a pain if you don't take care of him quickly. Kornerupine is weak to fire, so use Shing's Bakuenken and keep the combo going to carry the weakness through. Kohaku's fire spells are also helpful. We get to see Kohaku's Satsugeki Bukouken for the first time and man, it looks awesome.

After battle we get Kohaku's Spir Rune back.

Fun fact: Kornerupine, like most names that are used in this game, is a mineral.

I was actually surprised to find that this guy was pathetically easy in contrast to the difficult dungeon.

Yeah, I had no idea until I googled it because I wasn't sure how to romanize his name. Chalcedony is also a mineral; had to google that too. So many mineral and flower references. I never knew what a Tritoma was until I played this game lol.

If you consider that the plot is barely developed at this point, it shouldnt be that surprising XD

For me the game was about 63hs long my first run, but I rushed a lot. So you will have fun.

It IS quite amazing for a DS game, but it is tales afterall!

I was 5 levels lower than you when I did this and still was cake, though my characters died much faster

I haven't spoiled the story for myself yet, so I'm not really sure how far I am. Someone else might be able to answer this. I don't have a full party yet, so I probably still have a ways to go.

Hmm... I think that even if I was 5 levels lower than I am now I still would have been able to finish him quickly as long as I abused his fire weakness.
