Beautiful video of beautiful house! Is that the "ghost of Chatsworth", seen at 7:07?
Just before, at 6:59, seems to be a picture of the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire on their wedding? (I'm fortunate enough to have a copy of the Illustrated London News Supplement of the 1952 Coronation, and the youngest, most beautiful noblewoman seen in the pictures in the margins is the Duchess of Devonshire! Thanks for the peek at this magnificent mansion & grounds! : )
The statue is called the Care Free Man, as it depicts a gentleman tipping his hat. It is situated in the spot which used to be occupied by Mercury, which is now located in the Dome Room close to the Dining Room.
damn fancy house...and all those frescoes! it's rather overdone imo, but i reckon that's just how fashionable houses were back then. The grounds are beautiful though, as is the lake.
We were in London on a holiday and drove up. We stayed at the devonshire arms in Beeley (about 5 mins from the house). It was so beautiful. The food at the pub was excellent as well as the staff. The house and grounds are just amazing.
It s a really lovely house and garden, a great place to visit.

Beautiful House. Beautiful video, but I think more music would really bring it even more to life. Just a suggestion.
